Home-School Communication
We believe that family communication is key to a successful school year. We make every effort to maintain strong connections with our families. When students know that teachers and parents are a team, students have clear expectations to follow at home and at school. We maintain contact with parents in several ways:
· Email (Our preferred method of contact)
· Notes in assignment planners
· Telephone calls before or after school
· Maintaining class websites
· Sending important assignments and tests home for a parental signature because we feel it is important to keep parents/guardians informed about their child’s progress.
· REMIND-this is a text service parents can subscribe to and receive text message “reminders” about events, major assignments and tests that are coming up
· Parent Portal-we encourage parents to sign-up for this access to the grading system which help them monitor the progress of their child’s learning.
Parents can contact us via a note in the planner, an email, or by leaving a voice mail/phone message. Please be aware that our schedules rarely allow us to check voicemail messages except before and after school. Even then, the voice mail system may take up to 24 hours to deliver a message.
